Let Me Go Home To My Africa

Inspired by Zainab Abdallah and Michael Buble Sawaba… Sawaba… Sawabaeee…… Helsoles! If I could If I could come back home To the truth And if only I could Come back home to the love, The family I fondly miss If I could If I could be the clocker And purge the beads of time from ticking, If I could and wouldn’t have made those choices And I am coming home To that truth I am coming home For the love If I could share my last penny If I could Walk that mile just to make you smile, If I could Hold on the beauty, The magical gem of life And arouse thy emotions to the rivers of still If I could and wouldn’t have made you sad And for that, I am coming home To the truth I am coming home For the love If I could avert those mistakes If I could If I had not stroke you with insults, Jerked thy ego with a blunt blade If I hadn’t If I could be the Angel And flap my wings to your holy path If I could and wouldn’t have been that prodigal son And for this, I am coming home To the love I am coming home For the truth If I could If I could mount the seat of leadership And only if I could I wouldn’t have dreamt of things that never were If I could We all, would have weaved the journey into tomorrow By making space for the yet unborn, Than sow war and mould bombs, that calls for tombs And one for all I am coming home To the joy I am coming home For the love If I could And if I could be Julius Nyerere, Nelson Mandela, Kwame Nkrumah, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Seretse Khama, Jommo Kenyatta, Milton Obote, O.R. Tambo, Kenneth Kaunda, Then I am here now I have come home For the truth I have come home To the love I have come home To my history I have come For my culture I have come home To my Africa.
